The Faith-Full Summer (Wives of Faith)

The other day, we slept with the windows open.

Upon waking, my first thought was, “It smells like summer!”

It was a rich, fresh, exciting smell. I think if fun and rest and hope all combined and had an odor, it would be called summer.

So naturally, as I celebrated the sensation, I reflected on what summer meant to me.

Faith-FullSummerI remembered the last-day-of-school-is-coming feeling, when we cleaned out our desks, watched movies, ate popcorn and got to drink pop during class.

I smiled with the memories of driving 17 miles to “go to town” to go swimming.

I laughed when recalling the days when we didn’t get to go to town to swim, so instead improvised in our cattle’s stock tank.

I thought of my first Bible verse learned at vacation bible school in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Luke 11:9~ “Ask and it shall be given you; Seek and ye shall find; Know and the door shall be opened unto you.”

The memories flashed in my mind like an old movie reel… And then I realized that summer has always been so faithful to me.

Not just by way of fun and relaxation. But literally Faith-FULL.

It was the summer of my 12th year of life when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and was baptized on the following Sunday, which not surprisingly, was Father’s Day.

I remember that summer when I met that blue-eyed Jesus lovin’ soldier dude who would soon become my husband.

There is oh-so-much more to this post. Keep on reading over at Wives of Faith.

So, dear readers: In what ways will you make your summer faith-full this year? Join the conversation and leave a comment below.

Now if you will excuse me… I need to grab my umbrella drink and go meet Jesus at the beach.

Full in Christ,
