I have been on a journey to “get fit” for about seven years.
It started in college with a challenge from my Animal Science Anatomy and Physiology professor. He said that if we would take initiative to go to the rec center and meet with a trainer for a fitness/nutrition evaluation then write a paper on it, we would get a few points of extra credit.
Who knew that the one of the most rewarding, challenging, painful and sweaty experiences of my life would be motivated through academics?
During this fitness quest, I have walked, ran, stretched and even worked with a few personal trainers. The trainers taught me how to work out and keep from getting injured. They made personalized work out plans including cardio and strength training.
Oh, strength training. How I love to hate you.
It has been a hard road and while I am in much better shape than I was nearly a decade ago, I am still not “there.” I am stronger, but some days I am still sore, unmotivated and not excited about the goals set before me.
The same thing can be said for my spiritual strength training experience, especially when it comes to being a military wife.

Where in your life have you been made stronger in Christ? I would love to hear all about it. Leave you comment here.
Keep going, my friends. Your trials are simply building your trust muscles of faith in Jesus.
Be strong as you train with Christ.
Strengthened by Him,
“Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever.” ~1 Timothy 4:8 MSG
