Freedom from Pornography: #PureEyesCleanHeart Giveaway

We live in a world of very mixed messages. Sometimes it is hard to keep all of those messages straight. Jesus says one thing. The world says another.

Unfortunately, some of those messages are accompanied by bondage.

Some messages take away our freedom.

Pornography is one.

Perfectly healedMy great friend Jen along with her beloved husband Craig have boldly stepped forward with a message of their own in the their new book “Pure Eyes, Clean Heart: A Couple’s Journey to Freedom From Pornography.”

Craig and Jen have been there, done that, worked through it (with Jesus’ help, of course) and are now sharing their powerful message with the world.

Here’s the skinny on this incredible piece of heart-changing literature:

When Jen Ferguson inadvertently stumbled on a URL history of explicit websites on their home computer, her worst fears were confirmed: her husband was a porn addict. For Craig Ferguson, that discovery brought intense shame and guilt. For both, a sense of hopelessness threatened to destroy their marriage. But in the face of humiliation, hurt, and anger, they discovered that walking with Jesus could lead them out of the pit of sinful habits, unhealthy responses, and personal despair toward true recovery.

The battle Craig and Jen fought is not rare. In fact, it is often a hidden issue in many Christian homes. A study of evangelicals indicates that 50 percent of Christian men and 20 percent of Christian women are addicted to pornography.

In the pages of this book, Jen and Craig intertwine their personal journeys of healing and offer biblical insight to help you deal with the shame, anger, and insecurity created by porn addiction, recognize lies that both addict and spouse tend to believe, and restore lost respect.

Pure Eyes, Clean Heart offers compassionate understanding and the truth of God’s Word for all who struggle—or whose loved ones struggle—with the lure of pornography.

Interested? Well, it gets better. Keep reading.

This book is a wonderful addition to my Jesus-following arsenal on several different accounts. First, it helps me as a minister. Although I have only been in ministry a few years, I have encountered the issue of pornography more than I would like to admit. Sometimes I really don’t know what to say or how to help. Now I have a tangible resource to share with folks.

Key Surrender

#PureEyesCleanHeart is also very useful in our marriage. Although Brandon and I have not personally dealt with this struggle, we have talked openly about it to keep everything in the light. As a military couple with frequent duty-calls separations, the temptation for my husband is very real. Jen & Craig’s book is a wonderful anchor to reference when the temptation grows or we encounter these worldly mixed messages that are around every single corner.

Finally, this book is inspirational beyond the realm of pornography. It extends to anything that separates us from God and holds us in bondage.

Last I checked, I think those things are called sin.

And I may or may not have PUH-LENTY of experience with that.

This book addresses topics such as breaking sin cycles, realizing that a relationship with Jesus is the ONLY answer, confession, forgiveness, and offering grace to one another.

After all… It is hard to fight the Enemy when we are fighting with each other. #IKnowRight?
