Lessons and Laughter in Pregnancy

Here at 7 Days Time, I’m all about finding lessons and laugher buried in our everyday experiences.

And while I am not pregnant “every day” of my life (Thank goodness!) it’s been my “everyday” experience for almost the last 10 months. (Did you know that a woman is “technically” pregnant for 10 months, not just 9? #WebOfLies #WhoKnew)  [Read more…]

Worth Waiting For

You might have noticed that in this current season,  Wednesdays are my days to work toward some super-awesome God-sized dreams. So here is a blast from the past straight from the archives. Enjoy, dear friends… and thanks for the grace.

Tick…………….

Waiting. UG. It ranks right up there with “Going to the Dentist” and “Cleaning the Bathroom” on my list of Fun Things to Do. But waiting is SUCH a big part of our world, whether you are waiting for them to call your number at the DMV or waiting for God to give you an answer on what you are supposed to do. [Read more…]

Final Answer… Finally!

Are you good at waiting?

I don’t mean waiting tables… I’m talking bout the waiting that requires patience. Perseverance. Persistence.

Honestly, it’s not my forte.

I remember the days of my youth that I would spend WAITING for an answer– perhaps from my parents about attending a sleepover… or an answer from a scholarship committee… or a grade to come back on a test.

Waiting was painful. I would say that it was the equivalent to watching paint dry or grass grow– but at least those activities I had a general idea of what the outcome would be. [Read more…]

25 Reasons Why Moms Rock

“But Moooooooommmmmmmmmm…”

“Mom, you just don’t understand.”

“Whatever, Mom.”

Aaahhh, the sweet, sweet sounds of my childhood. (My teenage years were kind of brutal. Just ask my parents. Apparently, I had something called an “attitude.” Pshaw. Whatever 😉 ) [Read more…]

In Ready Position

I never really liked gym class. No offense to any gym teachers out there, but I rarely looked forward to gym, especially during that middle school phase…

Each day when I was down in the musty locker room changing my clothes, my heart would start to pound as I thought about what activity awaited me at the top of the stairs. One of the most dreaded gym sessions of the year? Basketball.

To this day, I still can’t do a lay-up with good form or dribble down the court without “traveling.” It’s not that I didn’t try– I just was never very good. I was THAT kid– you know the one– the kid that always got hit in the face with the ball. (Don’t believe me? I once got my lip split open by a ping pong ball. My face naturally attracted flying objects. It’s science.) [Read more…]

Questions are ok… Sorta.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Are we there yet?

What’s gonna happen next?

What should I do?

Ahhh, yes…Everyday questions… Many of which lack solid answers. Kind of like a lot of the questions we have for God about our lives. [Read more…]

No Bull Rule

Sometimes profound revelations come from the most unexpected places.

Like over a plate of lasagna, caprese and chocolate avocado mousse. (Not mixed together of course.)

Last week, I was having supper with my friend Kim. For those of you who have met Kim, you know she is 1) Hilarious 2) Nearly as loud and excitable as me <which is a feat in itself> and 3) Sings like Martina McBride. For those of you who don’t know her… now you do. Ish. [Read more…]

Drive On

I am writing this blog from Interstate 185 in Columbus, GA.

And yes. I am driving. But before you start sending me videos of distracted drivers, let me rephrase that.

I do not text and drive, let along blog and drive. (Insert safety PSA here) However, I AM sitting in the drivers seat on Interstate 185.  Why, you ask? Well,  it rained today. And side effects of a rainy day in Georgia not only include watered grass, wet pavement, and some rather grumpy attitudes of some, but rain apparently also erases safe driving skills in a majority of people.
