Sometimes in ministry, there are moments so intense, it nearly paralyzes me.
You know what? Let me rephrase that.
Sometimes in LIFE, there are moments so intense, it nearly paralyzes me.
And I have experienced a few of those moments in the last few weeks.
The text message that makes our stomach drop. The phone call from the doctor that makes our throat dry. The “we-need-to-talk” moment from our spouse.
Those moments, big or small can paralyze us.
But fortunately, we worship a God of action.
And He calls us to be men and women of action.
He wants us to have courageous faith and EXPRESS that faith in action.
Don’t hear me wrong here, my friends. Sometimes, action can look very, very different in different situations for different people.
Courageous action is pressing the green send button on our cell phone when “that call” comes.
Courageous action is moving forward, even if we seem like we are barely crawling.
Courageous action is speaking the truth in love to a friend in a really tough moment.
Courageous action can be slowing down as we rest in His presence.
Courageous action might be dropping to our knees and praying with everything we’ve got.
Courageous action comes in those moments when it looks like we are doing nothing– but are actually waiting.. and waiting expectantly.
Everything we are called to engage in with our faith walk requires action.
Loving. Trusting. Hoping. Resting. Being. Dreaming. Praying. Encouraging. Rising. Staying. Waiting. Seeking. Focusing. Holding. Moving. Grieving.
Courageous faith IS action.
Sweet readers, where do you see courageous action playing out in your life? Don’t be shy. Take action and join the conversation. I always welcome feedback.
In some of these hard or scary life situations, it has taken all my physical, spiritual and emotional strength to take the action that God has called us to take.
But in those moments, I cling tight to my life Scripture verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:24:
“The one who calls you is faithful and HE will do it.”
If the action God is calling you to seems just a little bit too big for you, there is a good chance you are right where He wants you to be.
Moving. Breathing. Trusting. And taking action with courageous faith in our Savior.
Taking action for Christ,
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” ~James 2:17
