Write Away (Five Minute Friday)

Five Minute Friday
Hi there, dear friends.

It’s time for Five Minute Friday, that sweet moment when I link up with Lisa-Jo Baker, she gives us a prompt and we write, for five minutes flat.

Not profound thought process or strategizing. Just write.

And this weeks prompt?

WRITE

AND GO!!

Writing is a funny thing. It can be scary. It can be encouraging. It can be elusive. It can be addicting. It can be enlightening. It can be challenging.

But most of all, especially when I write for Jesus (which in all honesty, He is pretty much the only reason I write) writing is inadvertently life-giving.

Writing itself doesn’t give me life… But the One I write about and write for does. He gives me words to share to encourage a downtrodden heart. He gives me hard messages to bring truth into this world. He gives me revelation to grow my heart. He gives me hope through His Timeless Words. He gives me focus on what really matters. He gives me courage to go against the grain.

All of these characteristics stem from Christ, my Lord and Savior. They are expressed by the sweet and sometimes not so sweet art of writing.

It’s a discipline that God continues to grow in my life. But I have to be honest. Without His inspiration, His intervention, His saving grace, my words are empty.

So today, dear friend, I pray with all my heart that God continues to prune me– to make my fingers swift, sharing the truths and the love that He gives us. I pray He continues to make this not just a screen to look at with words on a page, but rather a place of hope. Faith. Peace.

I pray He equips me write away right away… and long into the future, giving Him all the glory.

STOP!
