Ahhh, do you smell that? Tis the aroma of Friday.
And around these parts, Friday can mean only one thing: It’s FIVE MINUTE FRIDAY time.
That’s right, each week I join in the #FMFparty by linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker. She gives us a prompt. Then we write. For five minutes.
It’s unscripted. It’s unedited. It’s five minutes of pure word adrenaline.
I’m getting all fired up. Let’s get this party started, shall we?
Today’s Prompt: Encouragement
AND GO!
****
We all have those days. You know the ones. Those days where everything seems to have gone wrong. We are down in the dumps. Struggling to find joy in anything. And the world just looks like a big pile of poo.
Been there. Done that. Cried on my T-shirt.
But as crappy (yeah, I said it) as those days are, God has a secret weapon in store for us: His vessels of encouragement.
He encourages us through people. That friend that sends you a random text at just the right time to say “You are on my heart. Just wanted to let you know I am praying for you today.” Or that loving spouse who just nods and smiles as you blubber about how stupid the world is then wraps you in a hug.
He encourages us through His word. The perfect Bible verse, the very applicable devotional or the random revelation that pops into your head.
He encourages us in person. Yes, He loves you. He cares about you. In fact, he is CRAZY about you. All we have to do is call on Him and His Spirit will encourage us. Right there.
So dear friend, if you are having one of those poo-filled moments, be encouraged. God loves you. Keep going. Cling to Him. Remember that heaven is a-waiting. Tomorrow is full of new mercies.
I’m cheering for you… So please, sweet reader, don’t make me beg. (Because you know I will do it.)
Be encouraged. God’s got this. I promise.
STOP!
****
So thankful for you today, dear reader. Feel free to leave a comment if you feel so moved. Oh! And let me know how I can encourage you and be praying for you by submitting a prayer request here.
Have a stellar weekend and I hope to see you right back here on Monday for another exciting adventure of finding Jesus in the 7 Days Time He gives us each week.
Hallelujahs and high fives,
“I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds.” ~2 Corinthians 7:4 NIV
