Every now and then, I ask my Beloved Husband for input on bloggy topics for this website.
As I was praying through this “21 Truths About God” series for the days leading up to Easter, I wanted his perspective. So I plopped down on the couch, notebook in hand, and challenged Brandon to help me come up with this Godly traits or “truths.”
We started shooting them back and forth. Some came pretty quickly, like loving and faithful. Brandon said “Infallible,” and I responded with “Yeah! That’s a good one!”
I wrote it down. But a few moments later we both paused, looked at each other and said, “Wait a second… What exactly does infallible mean?”
It sure sounded right– I was pretty certain I had heard God described as infallible before. But my tired mama brain couldn’t come up with a specific definition right off the top of my head. I quick jumped on over to dictionary.com and discovered the following definitions:
Yep. That seems to sum it up pretty well. So today’s truth is just that:
God is Infallible
Let’s take a deeper look at this truth, shall we?
First of all, we know that God is trustworthy. (Spoiler alert: We will cover that truth all in itself a few days from now.) But I believe God’s infallibility goes even deeper than that. It is all-encompassing. All encouraging. All certain.
God as a sovereign deity is absolutely certain… In His plans, character, love, everything. He is more effective than any business strategy we could ever dream up and more efficient than any man-made machine. Yes, He is infallible.
The Lord we worship is not capable of making mistakes. He is all-knowing, ever-present. He is greater, more powerful, more awesome than our little human brains can even begin to comprehend.
Kind of an awe-inspiring and mind-blowing concept, don’t you think?
In all honesty, I almost struggling writing this blog about God being infallible because really it is hard to put into words. He is just so… WOW. <— See, told you I was struggling.)
Although this truth about God’s infallibility seems so huge and almost impossible to comprehend, when we really get down to it, we see this truth about God being infallible every single day.
When we realize His plans are perfect. (And hindsight is 20/20.)
When we embrace the idea that He only does when is best for us, even in a hard season.
When we feel his perfection and Holy hand lift us up in a time of indecision.
When we receive His clarity and direction in a time when we have no idea where to turn.
When we see His marvelous, error-free and perfectly planned agenda working in our lives.
That, my friends, this truth in action. God IS infallible.
Take a few moments and think about this vast concept. Where do you feel, experience or see this truth of God’s infallibility at work? I would love to hear all about it. Leave a comment below.
This truth about God might be a bit overwhelming, but don’t be intimidated. Instead, be encouraged that His perfect and error-free ways are the stepping-stones in your journey with Him.
Plus, we should also rejoice in this truth because hey… Maybe we just learned a new vocabulary word to share at the supper table tonight, right? 😉
Either way, let’s hold tight to this truth, dear readers. Because God IS infallible.
Rejoicing in His plans,
